Have you ever wanted to feel more sensual, more connected to self love, or be able to express yourself from a place of confidence?
Have you ever wanted to feel more at peace, and overall grounded in your body?
From years of being connected to my own body, years of doing yoga and pilates, and as a professional samba dancer, I know how important it is to attune to your body. Your body is the emotional storehouse, meaning she carries all of your emotions, including all the emotional imbalances and even old traumas.
Did you know that when you move your body in a certain way, you release trauma, unresolved emotional blockages and pain, so your energy can flow freely, and can help you move forward and in alignment from the place of your highest self?
This is the place we want to be to really live a life of ease and at peace.
There are many ways you can feel at peace and balance your 7 chakras and soothe your nervous system. And that is through embodiment, through breathwork and with embodiment dance.
If you have been wanting to feel healthy and feel at peace in your body, embodiment dance of the five elements is a beautiful way to balance the 7 chakras also.
Embodiment dance that integrates the 7 chakras will help soothe your nervous system, will help you reconnect with your feminine wisdom and will activate your sexual energy. This is because you unblock the denseness that holds back your sexual energy which is required for manifestation. The sexual energy that is stored in the lower chakras.
Chakras or energy centers in the body can be activated through different practices such as embodiment dance or embodiment practices. This will leave you feeling restored and at peace within yourself. Embodiment dance is not really a dance as we know it. It is a dance where you allow your body to move in a way that feels more intuitive. It is an intentional way of moving emotions around the body.
When you allow certain parts of your body to be activated, especially the life force energy within your womb, you begin to restore the nervous system, feel at peace and balance the 7 chakras.
The chakras are believed to be pathways through which energy flows between the physical and spiritual realms. In this way, you can increase health, vitality, intuition through practices such as meditation, yoga, and other spiritual practices.
When the chakras are in balance, we are able to experience a sense of wellbeing in our lives. We feel at peace and relaxed within our nervous system. Unfortunately however, when the chakras become blocked or out of balance, we can experience physical and emotional discomfort. Which is why embodiment dance or other forms of sacred movement can help with this.
What are the 7 Chakras?
Along the spine you have the main chakras. These chakras run from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
Each chakra has its own purpose and is associated with their own special physical, emotional and spiritual characteristics. This is why in my sensual embodiment dance practices, I focus on a chakra and allow flow in these spaces to create balance.
The 7 chakras are the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown chakras.
Everything we do influences these seven chakras in one way or another.
The root chakra is associated with grounding, safety, security, your connection to the earth and Mother earth. The root chakra is in charge of your survival. All those ways that have kept you safe. The root chakra feels very primal, very earthy. Because it is connected to the earth element, we can think of the legs, thighs and hips as part of this chakra.
It is that feeling of being heavy and anchored down into the body, into the earth. When you are feeling scattered in your energy, it is always good to root back down into your body and connect with the earth to bring that sense of groundedness.
The sacral chakra is associated with the sexual energy, your creativity or creative life force, your sensuality. It governs relationships. It is situated right below your naval and related to your sexual centres, the yoni, womb, hips.
IT has a very raw, sensual part of our expresion and is very tantric in nature.
This is why in my embodiment dance sessions, we focus a lot on soft, slow, sensual, erotic movements with a focus on the hips and pelvis, to wind out those stuck emotions and really ignite the desires. The sacral chakra, or the womb area is where all of your desires and longings are birthed.
The solar plexus is associated with personal power, your confidence, your self worth and esteem. The solar plexus are situated in the stomach, belly, and digestive area. We can think of the fire element, everything that breaks down. It has an energy of assertiveness, powerful and strong.
It gives you a sense of who I am in the world. The energy where you take ownership and leadership of your own life. It is a very masculine energy as well. Masculine energy which exists in all of us despite our gender.
In my programs, I always bring in these elements to balance out the feminine energy. Without the masculine energy, the feminine is chaotic and scattered, so in order for her to have clarity and strength, we need to empower the healthy masculine within us.
The Heart chakra is associated with love, with compassion and forgiveness. It is the connection or glue to the lower and higher chakras.
When I speak about love, this is the love that threads us altogether. The love that we all want to embody and expand into and in essence we all are. It is feeling into the love that you feel for life, for the world, for how you move through the dark aspects of your life also. This is the aspect of us where we realise our very own feminine power in the world.
Throat chakra is associated with communication. The way you use your voice connected to love, to speak your truth and desires from a place of grace and knowing. It is all about communication, chanting, expressing yourself through poetry, music, humming. It is all about the sound and vibration.
When you open your yoni, your sacral chakra, you open your throat chakra as well, as they are connected. This is why in Feminine Remembrance we focus on Yoni awakening through breath and de-armouring practices to ignite her power through us, so we begin to speak from this space of love and knowing.
The Third Eye chakra is associated with knowledge, intuition, how you perceive yourself and the world around you. The Third eye chakra is between your two eyebrows, it is connected to your intuition. To see the unseen. It goes beyond the five senses, it is knowing and feeling and moving from this space that we can’t even comprehend with the mind. It is intuition. It is associated with what exists in the quantum realm.
This is how we feel into things and we receive these answers that don’t make sense in the physical world but we know it makes sense. And when you listen to it, you become more expanded into your highest self, your vision, your purpose for being here.
The Crown Chakra, related to higher consciousness is all about the divine, the higher source, your connection to the divine.
The Crown Chakra is above our heads. Here, we remember our divine connection to Spirit and the heavens above. This is our ability to receive downloads and messages from the Universe. It is our ability to connect with our guides and ability to know how intertwined we all really are. How we are all part of this larger existence, and how this existence also exists within us. It is knowing how to continually connect with this aspect of ourselves that is clearly designed for us. Here, you realize, that we are all part of this divine plan, each with our own unique purpose, our own unique voice. That we are all here, as the soul, moving through our bodies.
How Does dance embodiment Balance the 7 Chakras?
You may know that there are different yoga poses that can help you to activate and balance different chakras. In the same way movement can do this also. Especially when the movements are focused on the 7 chakras.
You can join the private facebook group to join in the live sensual, embodiment movement practices to bring balance to your whole body and mind.
When you move and activate different chakras you open the energy flows, you release tension, you create openness and flow to the blockages that may exist.
There are different dance moves, just like in yoga, where you can really focus on each with a different intention, they can really help to bring balance to the entire system and overall feel a sense of relaxation.
The feminine element is the part of us that is in movement.
When you dance and move, it activates your feminine energy. You become more connected to your feminine. You become more connected to the life force energy that creates and becomes life.
This is why I love sensual dance. This sensual dance, not only brings life to your being, but your spiritual and emotional body too.
When you combine movement with other practices such as meditation, more masculine elements of stillness, you also allow your mind to calm.
Meditation is a beautiful tool to help with relaxation and balance the nervous system. It is how we understand and bring clarity to whatever we are feeling within. You can allow yourself to go into different states of consciousness where you receive a lot of your answers from your highest self.
When you bring in other practices such as visualization, ancient taoist tantric practices along with embodiment dance, you not only allow yourself to experience peace and a restored nervous system but you also connect deeper with your intuition and your inner wisdom, you activate your heart and you remember why you were here.
This is how we continue to find harmony, love, prosperity, and grace in our lives always.
