When you think of the Erotic.. what do you think of straight away?

Does your mind go straight to what you do in the bedroom perhaps?

But let me tell you, the erotic is so much more than what happens in the bedroom.

The erotic is YOU in your natural feminine expression. And that will look different to all of us. And this is key when cultivating the awakened feminine.

The erotic is this dark aspect of the feminine. The forgotten and sometimes feared aspect of the woman in her power. We fear her because of the ideas we have been led to believe to be true about the awakened woman. And this limits our vitality, radiance and confidence.

We tend to think of the erotic as this easy, performing, tempting arousal. This thing that you do.

If you type erotic online, the first thing you will find is mostly a woman in a “s.xual position.” You might find this woman in a situation that shows the woman is an object to a man’s pleasure. We have limited this word, the erotic, to a performance and through this performance, our authentic, wild free expression has been limited also. Through this limitation, our sexual expression is blocked. Our natural, feminine expression is blocked. Therefore, we may be taking on roles or behaviours in order to fit into a world that values a woman in one expression only.

How do we know the Erotic

You see sister, the erotic, is much deeper than a performing, tempting arousal.And we know this because Mother Earth is our greatest teacher in the erotic. When you look around, you will see how mother nature is erotic. She is abundant, she is wild, she is fierce, she is fully expressed. This is the erotic.

Remember that little girl? The little girl who would run around, spin, dance in her full embodied expression.. Yes that is the erotic. And when she is expressed in your mature, wise, awakened woman, you then know how to be fully expressed in the world that feels authentic to you.You embody the awakned woman.

The erotic is a woman’s power. It is where an awakened woman’s magnetism lies. It is where she stops trying to force her way into manifestation and instead she connects with her life force which is found in the black velvets of her womb and yoni. When women don’t connect to this power center, of the womb and yoni, we miss out on so much of our potential and we stay in these limited ways of being. And then we also miss out on the great pleasures that are available to us through our body, through our senses, through our touch, breath etc.

There is so much power to be claimed when you allow yourself to be taken by your own wild nature.

Fully expressed.

Not worrying about how you sound and look. Dancing to the beat of your own drums.

I saw this alot in my sensual dance spaces when I was teaching circles in Tulum. Women would do all the dance moves correctly, but then when I would ask them to really let go, close their eyes and allow their intuitive wild self to lead them, this is where they would close up. It is a common default that I see most women move into. And that is no fault of our own. As I mentioned, we live in a world where we are given the definition of sexuality and the erotic as this performance, and this thing that is outside of us. Something that is not connected to our true authentic self.

Redefining The Erotic

We can redefine the erotic and see The Erotic as this essence within all of us women. It is cultivated when you trust that your wisdom, your soul and your body is going to lead you in the most expansive spaces. In the most healing spaces, to continue bringing your greatest self to life.

This can only happen when you experience the erotic. Fully surrendered, embracing all the movements, all the sensations, all the sounds, all the vibrations that run through your body.It happens when you are relaxed and present. When I say present, I mean you are fully connected with your body. You are dropped in.

We can feel this orgasmic state in intimate acts, which is why we relate the erotic to s.xual arousal but it can happen in the moment you choose to connect deeply with life through your sensuality.Through your connection with all of life. In the simple day to day acts of pleasure. And then here we realise how wonderful, beautiful and blissful life really is.
